NORMAL — Families of Epiphany Church and Schools will meet the new principal Sunday when he speaks to parish members, Monsignor Eric Powell said Friday.
Mike Lootens of Bloomington begins his new job this summer. He retires in June from Stanford-based Olympia School District after 33 years, including as activities director for the middle and high school and assistant principal at the high school.
Lootens replaces Richard Morehouse, who is retiring after 16 years. Morehouse expects to stay involved in education, Powell said.
Epiphany has 350 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
At Olympia, Lootens is being replaced by Robert Svencner, who held a similar post at Memorial Junior High School in Lansing. He was chosen from among 100 applicants.
