Early signs of autumn show up on the trees as wanderers take part in Illinois Wesleyan University's homecoming Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at the IWU Eckley Quad in Bloomington.

BLOOMINGTON — Illinois Wesleyan University students now can view their grades, courses, campus events, dining options and more within a free app now available for download on Apple and Android mobile devices.

“We are excited to launch the Illinois Wesleyan app as a service to students, an opportunity to enhance engagement and a reflection of our commitment to sustainability,” said Karla Carney-Hall, vice president of student affairs and dean of students. “Students now have easy access to academic information, resources and campus events, literally right at their fingertips.”

Funded by the Student senate to replace printed academic planners, the app provides a centralized platform for academic and campus life information. Features include access to grades, courses, email, an app-based planner, Moodle, campus events, dining options, laundry availability, a student directory and a University map that generates directions to buildings on campus based on the user’s current location.

While geared primarily for current students, other users such as faculty, staff, alumni and prospective students also may find value in the app's features, IWU officials said.

The app can be downloaded for free by searching “Illinois Wesleyan” within the App Store for iPhones and iPads and within the Google Play store for Android devices.
