BLOOMINGTON -- Bloomington Fire Department will host an aircraft rescue and firefighting initial training course May 13-17 at Central Illinois Regional Airport.
Times will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 13-15; 1 to 9 p.m. May 16; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 17.
This is part of annual airport training conducted by the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Institute.
Fires will be ignited in the aircraft simulator, causing large amounts of smoke to be generated on an abandoned runway near the old terminal. This will be the only area that the burning will take place.
