BLOOMINGTON — Illinois Prairie Community Foundation has awarded its largest number of grants to nonprofit organizations.
The foundation awarded $146,705 to 65 programs in McLean, DeWitt, Livingston and Logan counties, thanks to donors, endowments and the Jerome Mirza Foundation.
Receiving general grants were Back 2 School Alliance, back packs for students; Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal, Summer Brain Gain; Carlock Public Library, summer reading program; Cedar Ridge Elementary School, Chess Club; Child Care Resource and Referral, car seat distribution and education; Church of Christ Uniting, Lexington Community Garden; Collaborative Solutions Institute, Trauma Intervention-OPTIONS; Community Health Care Clinic, dental clinic planning; Conexiones Latinas de McLean County, Roots to STEM-Our Future Leaders; David Davis Mansion, educational programs; El Paso Public Library, Treasure Chests of Knowledge; Faith in Action, transportation for seniors.
