Try 1 month for $5

BLOOMINGTON — The city of Bloomington is reducing the operating hours for the drop-off site for bulk and landscape waste from Jan. 14 to March 17 due to decreased demand for services in winter.

The new hours for the Citizen Convenience Center at the corner of East and Jackson streets are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Beginning March 18, the weekly hours of operation will return to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

For both schedules, the facility will be closed on Sundays and municipal holidays. Entrance gates close 15 minutes early.

People can take their bulk waste, brush and other acceptable items to the central location for processing rather than waiting for curbside collection. The facility also offers information about local charities that accept donations and find out how to dispose of waste in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Services of the convenience center are provided at no additional charge.
