COBDEN -- Authorities suspect heat exhaustion played a role in the death of a 92-year-old southern Illinois man whose body was found in a field near his home a day after he'd been reported missing.
Searchers found Raymond Baggott's body on Wednesday. Authorities say Baggott was legally blind and had Alzheimer's disease.
County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Harvel says Baggott's body was first spotted by a searcher using a helicopter, and that the man appeared to have died about 12 hours earlier.
Harvel believes heat exhaustion from temperatures in the 90s factored into Baggott's death.
More than 200 people took part in the search.
