NORMAL -- A woman and two men wielding a golf club attacked a man during Thursday's lunch hour in uptown Normal.
The victim who suffered serious lacerations was transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening, said Normal Police Lt. Eric Klingele.
The attack took place just before 1 p.m. on the 200 block of South Fell Avenue, between Marriott Hotel and Conference Center and Illinois State University's Watterson Towers.
Less than a half hour later, police had taken several people into custody at the 1000 block of Samantha Court, Normal.
The victim, who suffered substantial injuries, apparently knew the suspects. The situation is considered a domestic-related incident, said NPD's Sgt. Dan Kelley.
The Pantagraph does not name suspects until formal charges are filed.
