Community celebrates St. Patrick's Day

NORMAL — The town of Normal is closing roads Saturday along the route of the Sharin’ of the Green St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The parade is from 1 to 3 p.m. in uptown Normal. The streets will have no parking after 10 a.m. and will be closed at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Streets included in the closure are South School Street from College Avenue to North Street, North Street from South School Street to Uptown Circle, Fell Avenue at the intersection of Fell and North Street, Broadway Avenue at the intersection of Broadway and North Street, Constitution Boulevard, Uptown Circle, East Beaufort Street from Uptown Circle to Linden Street, Linden Street’s southbound right turn lane from College Avenue to Beaufort Street, and Constitution Trail from Linden to College Avenue.

The Parkinson Avenue parking lot will be closed. During the event, parking will be free in the College Avenue parking deck and the ISU parking deck on the corner of South School and West Beaufort streets.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at the corner of South School and North streets and travel east on North Street, around Uptown Circle and east on East Beaufort Street.
