Also preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Edward; and one sister, Minnie Kelley Carey.
Surviving are his daughter, Sue (Lou) Saunier, Cooksville; grandchildren, Britt (Julie) Saunier, North Port, Fla., and Danielle (Craig) Miesner, Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Auston Saunier, Dalton Saunier, Caleb Miesner, Kyle Miesner, and Cody Miesner; one sister, Wilma Kelley; several nephews, cousins and one niece.
Al started working at a very young age. He fondly remembered working at Breen Beverage in the 1950s and 1960s with routes in Bloomington and communities outside the city. He retired from there and loved his work as custodian at Bent School in District 87.
Al always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be missed by all of us but God has bigger plans for him. Rest, Dad.
Thank you to all who helped Dad in his time of need, especially his friends, family, Pastor Wardell, and caregivers at McLean County Nursing Home.
A celebration of life will be 4 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
