EASTON - Albert K. Krause Jr., 81, of Easton died at 2:38 pm Friday (Feb. 17, 2006) at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
His funeral will be Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Havana, Pastor Martin W. Liebmann officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Havana. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday at Hurley Funeral Home, Havana.
Memorials may be made to the Mason District Hospital Cardiac Rehab. Unit, St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Mason City Area Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Easton, the son of Albert J. and Augusta Kreiling Krause Sr. He married Alice Wallbaum on March 15, 1953, in Havana. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kraig Krause, Easton, and one daughter, Mrs. James (Ann) Ament, Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Krause was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Havana; a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army; a member of Havana Post No. 6408 VFW; president of the Farmers Elevator of Biggs and Easton; chairman of the board of directors for Community Bank of Easton; a director of the Central Special Drainage District; past director of Mason County Service Company; a past 4-H leader; and was active in the Mason County Extension Program. He farmed in the Easton area his entire life.
