HUDSON - Alice Marie Simpson, 84, of Hudson died at 11:09 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 15, 2006) at her residence.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Bill Vandervoort officiating. Burial will follow in Hudson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the memorial home. Memorials may be made to the Hudson Fire Protection District Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Simpson was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Hudson Township, a daughter of Charles and Estle Fillmore Arbuckle. She married Chester R. Simpson on Sept. 27, 1941 at St. Louis, Mo. He died Jan. 1, 1984.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda F. Simpson, Hudson; a son, Marvin R. (Judy) Simpson, Ruckersville, Va.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Warren (Millie) Arbuckle, Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, four brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Alice will be remembered as a very thoughtful, caring and giving person. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends. She enjoyed being a homemaker and working outdoors, especially gardening. She will be deeply missed.
