BLOOMINGTON - Aline Isabel Arnott, 82, formerly of St. Louis, San Diego, and Atlanta, Ga., died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday (May 30, 2007) at Heritage Manor of Normal.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Church, 1311 W. Hovey Ave., Normal. Interment will be this week at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Aline was born March 3, 1925, in St. Louis, a daughter of Minor George and Lucille Anna Banks. She married Charles W. Arnott on Feb. 14, 1951, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1995. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred and Ruth; and one brother, Herschel.
Survivors include her fraternal twin sister, Alice of San Diego; two daughters, Ruth Ann Lowe of Normal, and Charline Weed of Kalispell, Mont.; one son, Charles of Marietta, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.
Aline was a faithful wife, beloved mother, cherished grandmother and gentle friend.
Her 30-year career in retail began at Rich's Lenox Square in Atlanta, Ga., and included many years at Bullock's Wilshire La Jolla and I. Magnin in San Diego's Fashion Valley Center.
Her greatest joy was sharing her home with family and showering them with gifts.
She will be most remembered for her faith in God, her unconditional love, her kindness and gentle loving spirit, which made her so easy to be with.
She will lastly be remembered for the grace and dignity she demonstrated as she traveled through eight years of Alzheimer's disease. Her spirit was apparent until the end. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Heritage Manor in Normal for their loving support and care of our dear mother.
