PONTIAC — Allen D. Seggerman, 83, of Pontiac, passed away at 2 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2015) at his residence.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, with the Rev. Mark Knappe officiating. Burial will follow in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac, where full military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to First Lutheran Church.
Allen was born July 7, 1931, in Secor, a son of John and Vera Woltzen Seggerman. He married Dolores Hornickel on June 24, 1956, in Pontiac. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Allen D. (Lisa Lambert) Seggerman Jr., Pontiac, and Robert W. (Amber) Seggerman, Chicago; two daughters, Jacqui (Terry) Walker, Camp, Ark., and Karen E. (Jim Malless) Seggerman, Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, John (Kathy) Seggerman, Chandler, Ariz.; and one sister, Gladys (George) Schopp, Crossville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Allen served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pontiac, where he served on the board and taught adult Sunday school for many years. He was a member of Pontiac Elks Lodge 1019 for 42 years, and also was a member of Pontiac Rotary Club and Toastmasters.
