Anna Marie Hubbard
LINCOLN - Anna Marie Johnson Hubbard, 92, Hudson, formerly of Lincoln, died at 9:20 a.m. Sunday (April 9, 2006) at Heritage Manor, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, with Vicar Michael Stock officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
She was born July 15, 1913, at Beason, the daughter of William and Hilda Stoline Johnson. She married Dean Hubbard on March 24, 1936, in Logan County. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1970.
Surviving are one daughter, Elaine (John) Phares, Hudson; two grandsons, Mark (Jill) Phares, Romeoville, and Doug (Lori) Phares, Du Pont, Wash.; one granddaughter, Dawn Phares, Hudson; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Katie Phares, Romeoville, and Tyler Phares, Hudson; and also several nieces and nephews and five sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and six brothers.
Marie, as she was known, was educated in a one-room country school on what is now Route 10 near Beason. She and her husband farmed between Burtonview and New Holland. Marie sold the farm and moved to Lincoln in the spring of 1971. She later, 1997, moved to Hudson to be near her daughter and family. She was still actively working in her yard last summer.
She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
