BLOOMINGTON — Anne M. Aaberg, 51, Bloomington, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday (May 5, 2011) at her home after battling mesothelioma for more than eight years.
Her visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF), 1317 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
Anne was born Oct. 16, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Richard and Donna Palmer Aaberg.
Surviving are her parents, Dick and Donna Aaberg, Normal; three brothers, Jeff (Sandy) Aaberg and Jim (Gaye) Aaberg, both of Bloomington; and John (Delayne) Aaberg, Normal; her nieces and nephews, Erin, Sean, Tyler, Jackson, Grant, Jake and Lauren; and her dog, Maggie.
Anne graduated from Normal Community High School and was employed by State Farm Insurance Cos. as a technician in the Special Investigations Unit for 26 years prior to her retirement.
She was a talented writer and poet. Anne was strong and fiercely independent, but also very sweet and caring. She enjoyed keeping everyone in check with her stinging sense of humor.
