NORMAL — Bernadine Etter, 65, of Normal died at 11:50 a.m. Friday (July 29, 2011) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at College Park Christian Church, Normal, with the Rev. Brent Salm officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
She was born July 30, 1945, in Lexington, Ky., the daughter of Clarence and Bernadine Flanagan Meeker. She married Henry Ross Etter on June 18, 1966, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2009, after 42 years of marriage.
Survivors include five daughters, Carrie Etter, of Bath, England; Laura (Reggie) Wallace of Bloomington; Nancy (Scott) Cummings of Stanford; Sandra Etter of Bloomington; and Joanna (Bryan) Perschall of Normal; and 12 grandchildren, Lindsey, Justin and Nathan Wallace; Matthew and Sara Cummings; Brandon Etter; Austin and Kaylee Lusher; Josslyn Casperson, Ella White and Alex; and Andrew Perschall.
Bernadine received her degree in education from Illinois State University and worked as a teacher for homebound students for District 87 for over 10 years. She also worked for Catholic Social Services and Neville House.
