BLOOMINGTON — Shirley G. Butler, 68,  Bloomington, passed away Friday (July 30, 2010) at her residence.

Her funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home is handling arrangements. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Shirley was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Funks Grove, daughter of Charles and Dorothy Moran McWhorter. She married Lonnie Butler in April 1975 in Lincoln.

Surviving are her husband, Lonnie Butler, Bloomington; four sons, Duane Wert, Lonnie Butler Jr., John Butler and Charlie Davis; three daughters, Louise Harbaugh, Tesa Duval and Connie Shaneman; 18 grandchildren, Heidi, Chris, Devin, Pete and Tammy Wert; Tyler and Destiny Evans; Jack Berton; Danny, Anthony, Tabitha and Ashley Harbaugh; Dalton and Miranda Duval; Stephen and Alyssa Shaneman; and Chelsea Davis and Jordan Combs; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray McWhorter, Earl McWhorter and Richard (Anne) McWhorter; two sisters, Verna (Glen) Wilson and Ruth (Buddy) Cold; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and four nephews.

Shirley had worked for GTE/Verizon in the security department for more than 15 years.

She currently worked for Walmart as a greeter at the West Market Street location for a year.

She was devoted to her family and loved to fish for catfish.

Shirley was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who lived a simple life and was all about family.
