BLOOMINGTON — Katie B. Kinnison, 57, Bloomington, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 12, 2010) at her home.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Desmond Francis officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and for a half hour prior to the service Thursday also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal, or OSF Hospice, Bloomington.
Katie was born July 2, 1953, in Bloomington, the daughter of Albert A. and Annetta M. Stautz Watchinski. She married Thomas Gustavson. She married Frank L. Kinnison on Feb. 19, 1988, in Bloomington. He survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Diane (Chris) DeVore, Jacksonville, Fla., and Jennifer (Jeff) Shoultz, Lincoln; one brother, Steve (Diane) Watchinski, Chapin, S.C.; and was a proud grandmother of Joshua and Alex DeVore and Samuel Shoultz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Watchinski.
Katie graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1971 and Illinois State University in 2006 where she received the ISU Mortar Board Award. She was a social worker for Catholic Charities in Bloomington. She was a member of Christ the King Episcopal Church, Normal.
Katie loved her grandchildren. They were her main focus and they brought her great joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
