BLOOMINGTON — Robert “Bob” G. Tucker Sr., 76, Bloomington, died at 10:35 p.m. Sunday (April 25, 2010) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in East Lawn Mausoleum, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Bob was born Nov. 1, 1933, at Milwaukee, Wis., son of Roy and Myrtle Potts Bailey. He married Shirley L. Sutter on May 10, 1954. She passed away Aug. 16, 1993. He married Patricia Martin on Dec. 20, 1996, in Bloomington. She survives
Also surviving are four sons, John (Janet) Tucker, Towanda; Ron (Linda) Tucker, Pontiac; Robert (Lynette) Tucker Jr., Carlock; and Mike (Toni) Tucker, Normal; one stepson, Joe (JoAnn) Martin, Bloomington; siblings, George (Susan) Bailey, Jack (Jackie) Bailey, Loretta (Buck) McLeod and Barbra Braswell, all of Florida; Dick (Martha) Bailey, Alabama; and Darlene Lund, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
Bob was a veteran, serving in the 123rd Infantry Regiment.
He retired from Bridgestone-Firestone in December of 1995.
He loved golfing and hunting. He touched many lives in his 76 years, especially his family. He will be greatly missed.
