MAROA — Leroy Robert Waterhouse, 68, Maroa, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday (April 6, 2010) at his family residence after a long battle with cancer.
His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with military honors at the funeral home. Family requests casual dress. The Rev. Jeff Grant will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded with services being held in Clinton and in Pennsylvania. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Leroy Waterhouse Memorial Fund.
He was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Johnstown, Pa., son of Theodore and Gertrude Wilber Waterhouse. He married Donna Sue Thrasher on July 23, 1963, in East Gary, Ind.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; sons, Donald (Roxy) Waterhouse, David Waterhouse and Damon (Kristin) Waterhouse; and daughter, Dianna (Doug) Chapman; grandsons, Deke and Derek Chapman; Keegan, Konnor, Kaydon and Dawson; brothers, Bernard (Louise) Waterhouse, Pennsylvania; Jerry (Theresa) Waterhouse, California; and Raymond (Leona) Waterhouse, Mississippi; sisters, Mary (Rich) Elder, Arizona, and Henrietta Adamus, Kentucky; adopted nephew, Rich (Bev) O’Saben, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful guard dog, Angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Claire and Frank; brother-in-law, Joe O’Saben; and special in-laws, Don and Thelma Thrasher.
He served in the U.S. Army for nine years, stationed in Korea and Germany and was a Vietnam veteran.
He was a member of the American Legion and lifetime member of the VFW and Disabled American Veterans. He worked for Revere, Borg Warner, Wakehut Security and the post office in Decatur (Mound Road). He was also a member of Teamsters Local 279 of Decatur.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He will be missed by all.
