EL PASO — Charles V. Lampe, 100, El Paso, died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 2, 2010) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, El Paso.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, with the Rev. Shelly E. Forrest officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Sunday at the memorial home. Memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.
Charles was born Feb. 6, 1910, in El Paso, the son of Herman and Carrie Gull Lampe. He married W. Lois Garey on Feb. 16, 1932, in Bloomington.
She survives, along with one daughter, Jane (Wayne) Burroughs, Normal; two sons, Jack G. Lampe, El Paso, and Tilman H. (Sharon) Lampe, Conifer, Colo.; one sister, Ruth Guthoff, Hudson; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charlie; two sisters; and one grandson.
Charles was a member of the United Methodist Church, El Paso, and farmed for 43 years in El Paso and Roanoke.
He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa.
