BLOOMINGTON - Evelyn L. Zipler, 89, Bloomington, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 28, 2009) at the Heritage Manor Nursing, Bloomington.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Russell Rudolph, her grandson, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the memorial home. Private inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born May 31, 1920, at Shelbyville, Ind., the daughter of Bert and Anne Helton Theobald. She married Russell Rudolph, Waukegan. He preceded her in death. She later married Elliot Zipler on Jan. 26, 1963, in Wheeling. He passed away Sept. 23, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Rudolph, Wheeling, and Donald (Lori) Rudolph, Montana; two stepsons, James (Theresa) Zipler, Tampa, Fla., and Larry (Linda) Zipler, Memphis, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Ann (Richard) Bashford, Tennessee, and Karen (Norman) Harriman, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Treva) Theobald, Bloomington, and Bert Theobald, Aurora; and three sisters, Laura Johnson, Bloomington; Ida Little, South Elgin; and Phyllis (Bruce) Wilmoth, Jacksonville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
