BLOOMINGTON — Ann Girdler, 73, Bloomington, formerly of McLean, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday (June 22, 2011) at her home.
A funeral service for Mrs. Girdler will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Tony Billingsley will officiate. Burial will be in McLean Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
Surviving Mrs. Girdler are two sons, Michael (Rita) Girdler, Minier, and James Girdler, Bloomington; one stepdaughter, Reni (Mike McAtee) Radbourne, Normal; former daughter-in-law, Stacie Carroll, Bloomington; one sister, Dorothy Ross, McLean; six grandchildren, Myles and Sladen Girdler, Chance and Dusty Harmon, Doug Salch and Amber (Abe) Schrlau; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Randy Grubbs; and two husbands, James Girdler in 1979, and Bill Radbourne in 2008.
Mrs. Girdler was born Nov. 19, 1937, in McLean, the daughter of Peona and Ruby Russell Grubbs. She married James Girdler in 1954, at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Bill Radbourne in 2001. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Ann was a member of the VFW, Moose and Eagles in Bloomington. She was retired from Westminster Village where she worked as a nurses’ aide.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
