LEXINGTON - Berdean P. Freed, 81, Lexington, died at 6:55 a.m. Monday (April 17, 2006) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Lexington, with the Rev. Ray Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Calvert & Musselman Funeral Home, Lexington, and for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Lexington.
Berdean was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Lexington Township, the daughter of Henry and Edna Hensley Lindenbaum. She married Franklin Freed on Jan. 16, 1944, in Lexington. He survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Dianne (Jon) Erpenbach, Chicago; a son, Mark (Jan) Freed, Lexington; seven grandchildren, Matt Erpenbach, Marc (Adelita) Erpenbach, David (Kathy) Erpenbach, Emily (Eric) Jenkins, Mandy (Brian) Wiltz, Carrie Freed and Abbie Freed; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, John (Connie) Lindenbaum.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Byron Lindenbaum.
Berdean was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lexington, for more than 68 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Society and the Lexington Women's Club.
Berdean will be remembered for her love for her family, artistic ability, antiques collecting and her sense of humor.
