FLANAGAN — Bernard F. “Bernie” Wiechman, 73, of Asta Care Center, Pontiac, and Flanagan, died at 6:10 a.m. Saturday (May 21, 2011) at Asta Care.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan. A second visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the church. The Rev. Paul Lellelid will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Petri Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Petri Lutheran Church or to Asta Care Center, Pontiac.
Bernard was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Pontiac, to Fredrich H. and Gertrude Durre Weichman. He married Ida B. Cirks on June 2, 1963, at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan. She survives in Flanagan.
Also surviving are two daughters, Beverly A. Crutcher of Flanagan and Diane (Tim) Masching of Pontiac; five grandchildren, Allison, Megan and Blaze Masching, and Jordan and Tristan Crutcher; one brother-in-law, Darrel Glenn of Miner; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend of the family, Nancy Wakey.
His parents and two sisters, Dolores (Clarence) Block and Evelyn Glenn, preceded him in death.
Bernard was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and was a lifelong farmer in the Flanagan area.
