LeROY — Betty L. Kline, 86, of LeRoy, passed away at 11:48 a.m. Sunday (April 19, 2015) at her home in LeRoy.
A memorial service for Betty will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at LeRoy Christian Church. Jeff Mayfield will officiate. Inurnment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, is handling arrangements.
Betty was born Jan. 31, 1929, in Tolono, to Everett and Faye Wood Wheet. She fell in love with John E. Kline and married him on Aug. 20, 1950, in LeRoy.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John E. Kline; two children, Randy (Sue) Kline, LeRoy, and Steve (Susan) Kline, New Lenox; three siblings, Bobby Wheet, Pontiac; Peggy Penn and Oleda Woodrey, both of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Carrie (Jason) Hall, Joliet; Blaine (Lindsay) Kline and Matthew Kline, both of Manhattan; Cody Kline, Omaha, Neb.; Erin (Wade) Conn, Anna (Mike) Rayburn, Mary Kline and John Kline, all of LeRoy; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and three children (at birth), Cindy, Brad and Tim.
Betty was a loving wife and mother. She adored her grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. She was always there to provide support and offer a helping hand. She loved antiques, playing bridge, having coffee with friends, reading books and helping on the family farm. She was a member of Longfellow Club and volunteered as a dispatcher and at nursing homes. She was known for her great sugar cookies and story telling. She was the best grandma ever and will be greatly missed.
