BLOOMINGTON — Carol Ann Staley, 70, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:34 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2015) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Church of Merna, Bloomington, with Monsignor Gregory Ketcham officiating. Entombment will be in East Lawn Mausoleum, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Home Sweet Home Ministries or Clare House. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carol was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Racine, Wis., the daughter of John and Mildred Gothner. She married Richard D. Staley on April 19, 1986, in Chicago. He survives.
She is also survived by four children, Steve Stublaski, Madison, Wis.; Bill (Chrissy) Stublaski, Charlotte, N.C.; Tammy (Brian) Culhane, Bloomington; and Eric (Gina) Staley, St. Louis, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Kevin and Renee Culhane; Angelica, Zach and Jordan Stublaski; and Giada Staley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Tommy Gothner.
Carol received her associate's degree in nursing from Harper College in Schaumburg and worked as a registered nurse in Illinois, Florida and North Carolina.
Carol was a member of St. Patrick Church of Merna in Bloomington and the Women of Wonder religious group.
Carol enjoyed puzzles, swimming, traveling, cruise ships and night walks on the beach. She mostly enjoyed her family, seeing her grandchildren grow up, and her dog, Jordan. She will be dearly missed.
