Clara A. Arrowsmith, 87, of Minonk, passed away 6:10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 23, 2017) at Heritage Health, Minonk.
Cremation rites were accorded. Private family inurnment will be at Rutland Cemetery. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Filger’s Library, Minonk, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Clara was born June 27, 1930, in Fithian, the daughter of George and Catherine Loeschen Putnam. She married Harold Arrowsmith on Nov. 13, 1948, in Springfield. He died March 12, 1984.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Stephens, Streator; Marsha Anderson, Tonica; and Carol Flecker, Wenona; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and two sons-in-law, Jim Flecker and Boyd Namchick. Clara was the last of the Putnams to pass away.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. She had worked in the food service industry, working at the Sun Set Restaurant in Rutland and Heritage Health in Minonk. She loved to read and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
