CLINTON — Clara Lou Stephens, 91, of Mahomet, formerly of Clinton, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2015) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Her funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Little Galilee Christian Assembly or Lincoln Christian Home.
Clara Lou was born May 25, 1923, in Wapella, the daughter of Oliver Asa and Anna Lotus Walden Wilson.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Dumser, Mahomet, and Julie (Norm) Lewis, Gainesville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jenna Dumser, Stephen Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Megan Lewis and Kyle Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Jeffers and Kaile Jeffers; and one brother, Glenn Wilson, Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Clara Lou was a member of First Christian Church, where she served as treasurer for 25 years. She was city treasurer for Clinton until 1997, serving for approximately 20 years.
