CLINTON — Clarence Patrick “Pat” Danison, 66, of Clinton died at 7:02 p.m. Saturday (March 27, 2010) at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Weldon Cemetery, Weldon. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1943, in Decatur, a son of Leon and Helen White Danison. He married Kathy Edwards on June 18, 1963. He later married Denise Seivers on March 15, 1975. He then married Linda Haughey on July 3, 2000, in Nashville, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Danison, Clinton; three children, Kevin (Carla) Danison, Clinton; Kristine Devenbaugh, Lovington; and Erik (Michelle) Danison, Maryland Heights, Mo.; three stepchildren, Justin Haughey, Seattle; Jessica (Peter) Lu, Palo Alto, Calif.; and Jennifer (Alex) Rogers, Clinton; seven grandchildren, Colt, Cody and Cameron Danison, Patrick, Matthew and David Devenbaugh, and Tyler Danison; two great-grandchildren, Drake and Gabriel Devenbaugh; one brother, William “Bill” (Patti Jo) Danison, Weldon; and three stepsisters, Jackie O’Daffer, Decatur; Jeannie Andrews, Clinton; and Patsy Torbert, Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Robert E. Karr; and stepbrother, Allen Karr.
He was a lifetime carpenter and a member of Union Local 63 for 19 years. He was manager of the Ambulance Department at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton, for 16 years. He then became facilities manager at the hospital for 11 years. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping and membership in the Eagles and Elks Lodges. Pat fought a courageous battle for six months before succumbing to ALS.
