ROBERTS - Clarence Fairley, 76, of Roberts died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005) at the Asta Care Center in Paxton.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lamb-Young Funeral Home, Roberts, with the Rev. Matthew Geerdes officiating. Burial will be in Lyman Township Cemetery, Roberts, with military rites by the Wagner Davis American Legion, Roberts. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Fairley was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Roberts, a son of Ray and Anna Preising Fairley. He married Donna Marilyn Thomas on April 8, 1955, in Fairbury. She died Nov. 20, 1977. He later married Mary A. Havener on June 16, 1979, in Reno. She died July 9, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne (Marvin) Vogel, Cissna Park, and Vickie Andrews, Roberts; a son, Paul (Tammy) Fairley, Fairbury; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Russell Fairley, Melvin; Doug Fairley, Roaring Springs, Texas; and Alvin Fairley, Gibson City; five sisters, Edith Patrick, Katy, Texas; twin sister, Florence Knittles, Melvin; Ann Mae Grieb, Champaign; Wilma Johnson, Cullom; and Rosemary Eastin, Mesa Ariz.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Fairley farmed all his life. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Roberts. Memorials may be made to the Provena Covenant Medical Center Cancer Research Center.
