CLINTON — Cletus R. Cox, 76, Clinton, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday (March 16, 2010) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. The Rev. Roger Cox and Dr. Ken Graham will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with military honors. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cletus R. Cox Memorial Fund.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Wapella, son of Clarence and Violet Mandrell Cox. He married Audrey M. Peters on Nov. 15, 1962, in Miami, Okla. She passed away April 8, 2006.
He is survived by his children, Roger (Dorothy) Cox, Decatur; Wesley Cox, Anna; and Kenneth (Abby) Cox, Flora, Ind.; five grandchildren, Allison Cox, Andrea Cox, Janelle (Josh) Riaubia, John Cox and Melanie Cox; and one brother, Gilbert (Irm) Cox, Fayetteville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He had retired from Marco Chemical Co. of Clinton. He was a member of the American Legion.
