BLOOMINGTON - Clifford A. Wiggers, 92, Lt. Col. USAF, retired, Cocoa Beach, Fla., formerly of Bloomington, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 2009) at Brevard Hospice Care Center, Rockledge, Fla.

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brevard Memorial Park, Cocoa, Fla. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children or your favorite charity.

He was born in Hartsburg, son of Andrew M. Wiggers and Hazel Taylor Wiggers. His stepmother was LaVerne Dawson Wiggers.

His 31-year Air Force career included piloting combat missions during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. His awards included the Distinguished Flying Cross and the AF Commendation Medal. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Temple and Wade Barney Lodge of Bloomington, and was a charter member of the AZAN Shrine of Melbourne.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Amy; and his children, Clifford Jr. and Andrea.
