BLOOMINGTON — Cordelia M. Ellis, 97, of Altamont, died peacefully at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 30, 2005) at the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
The time of visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Altamont, with the funeral service following the visitation at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mitchel Schuessler of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial rites will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Altamont. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont. For those who prefer memorial contributions, they may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Parish Hall Building Fund, The Lutheran Care Center, KFUO Lutheran Ministries or a charity of the donor's choice.
Cordelia Marie Johanna Moll Ellis was born April 5, 1908, in Altamont, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Berg-Moll.
She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid of Bloomington. Mrs. Ellis retired in 1973, after more than 40 years of secretarial service at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Cos. of Bloomington. In 1981, she and her late husband returned to Altamont and she renewed her membership in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, her home church, where she had been baptized and confirmed.
She married Fred Harold Ellis on Jan. 31, 1932, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1997.
In her passing, she leaves behind one half brother, Martin (Hildegard) Moll, Altamont; nieces, nephews and stepnieces and stepnephews; and special friends and relatives, Dean, Sherry, Kara and Kurt Berg, all of Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Albert (Christina) Moll, Walter (Ellen) Moll and Louis (Ruth) Moll; one sister, Lorna Moll; and three stepsisters, Olga (Walter) Burrow, Ida (John) Bandelow and Anna (Arthur) Voelker.
