PONTIAC - Dale E. Rapp, 51, of rural Pontiac died at 12:58 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 18, 2006) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. William H. Beswick of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Cornell Cemetery, Cornell. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggest memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac or Futures Unlimited.
Dale was born June 23, 1954, at Pontiac, a son of Eugene and Anna Marie Krominga Rapp. He married Vicki Fitzsimmons on June 29, 1996, at Pontiac. She survives in rural Pontiac.
Also surviving are one stepdaughter, Candice (Ed) Vilt, Pontiac; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Mason Vilt; his mother, Anna Marie Rapp, Pontiac; one sister, Judy (Todd) Johnson, Pontiac; and one nephew, Brian Johnson.
Dale was preceded in death his father, Eugene Rapp.
Dale was educated in Cornell Schools and a graduate of Illinois State University.
He farmed and was employed at Big R in Pontiac. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as deacon. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and NASCAR fan.
