COLFAX — Darrell F. Hall, 91, of 106 S. Harrison, Colfax, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 10, 2006) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday also at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home. the Rev. Diane Yentes will officiate. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
Mr. Hall was born April 4, 1915, in Potosi Corner, a son of Harold and Clella Carter Hall. They preceded him in death. He first married Wilma McClure on Aug. 1, 1936. She died on Oct. 31, 1981. He then married Rosemary Wait on Oct. 19, 1985. She died in June 1997.
Surviving are three sons, Jimmy (Lisa) Hall, Santa Clarita, Calif.; Larry Hall, Corpus Christi, Texas; and Ricky Hall, Nogalas, Ariz.; one daughter, Dawn (Charles) Cochran, Pontiac; stepchildren, Larry (Carol) Wait, Quincy; Scott (Connie) Wait, Forrest; Tom (Rosanne) Wait, Bloomington; Julie (Joe) Plattner, Bloomington; and Colleen (Karl) Doering, Hudson; two sisters, Shirley (John) Foster, Chenoa, and Edith Smith, Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Dean (Cathy) Hall, Morton; Don (Joan) Hall, Cropsey; and Ray (Toshia) Hall, Quinlinn, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Dalton and Doris Meyer-Buess.
Mr. Hall owned and operated, with his father, Hall's Garage in Cropsey. He also owned and operated, with his uncle, H and H Sales and Service in Thawville. He retired from Empire Machinery in Arizona.
He was a member of Knights of Pythias while he lived in Arizona, and also the past president of Fairview Church.
