LINCOLN - Darrell F. Klockenga, 71, Crown Point, Ind., formerly of Lincoln and Decatur, passed away Monday (July 7, 2008).
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crown Point, Ind., with the Rev. David Easterday and the Rev. David Kipp officiating. Committal service will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, Crown Point, Ind., and one half hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley; two children, Carmen (Michael) Ball, St. Louis, and Darren Klockenga, Crown Point, Ind.; three grandchildren, Megan, Kelly and Nicholas Ball; one sister, Linda (Dave) Aper, Lincoln; three brothers, Alvin (Teresa) Klockenga, Frank W. Klockenga and Vernon (Janet) Klockenga, all of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. and Maxine Slayton Klockenga.
Darrell was a member and elder of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crown Point, Ind. He was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, Lincoln. He was a graduate of Millikin University, Decatur; and received his MBA and CPA from the University of Illinois. He was a member of Illinois CPA Society, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and was employed by St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point, Ind. He formerly served as assistant vice president for Franciscan Physician Network and had been a CFO for St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur.
Darrell was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed. We know, because of Jesus, he is at peace and celebrating his eternal life in heaven forever.
