MORTON - Delbert D. Haning, 87, of Morton passed away Thursday (Dec. 29, 2005) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Winnebago, Minn., to Frederick William and Orga Kindred Haning.
Delbert is survived by a daughter, Joan Spresser Haning (Don) Johnson, East Peoria; two sons, Richard (Mary) Dale Haning, Cary, and William Fredrick Haning, Bakersfield, Calif.; a stepson, John (Barbara) Gastman, Roanoke; a stepdaughter, Sandra (Gary) Kennell, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Rachel Young, Pasadena, Calif., and Inez (Roy) Raney, Bloomington; 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Delbert was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet K. Ewing Johnson, and brother, John Burton Haning.
Delbert was a maintenance foreman in the engineering department at Caterpillar for 37 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the VFW Post 2078 in East Peoria and a member of the First Methodist Church in Peoria.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Remmert Funeral Home, East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, Peoria.
