BLOOMINGTON - Donald S. "Ducky" Lusinski, 77, of 2501 E. Washington St., Unit 14, Bloomington, died at 4:50 a.m. Monday (June 11, 2007) at ManorCare Health Service, Normal.
His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvary United Methodist Church, Normal, Dr. Randall K. Perry officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to OSF St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary; OSF Hospice Program; and LifeCil, all of Bloomington.
He was born Dec. 9, 1929, at Chicago, son of Frank and Catherine Kowalczyk Lusinski. He married Betty Ann Mezey on Sept. 26, 1953, at Chicago. She died March 26, 2001.
Surviving are one daughter, Kim (Lane) Hansen, Bloomington; two brothers, William (Alice) Lusinski, Chicago, and Herbert Lusinski, Chicago; and one grandchild, Lucas Hansen, Bloomington.
His parents; and 10 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Don had worked at Verson All Steel Press Co., Chicago, as a welder, and was a member of the UAW Local 2006, Chicago. Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an avid gardener and wonderful grandfather. He enjoyed golf and donated his woodworking talents to OSF St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.
