BLOOMINGTON - Dorothy "Dottie" Brickey, 75, of 1102 E. Washington St., Bloomington, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday (June 26, 2007) at her residence.
There will be no service. Private inurnment will be at a later dater. Her visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to the McLean County Humane Society.
She was born May 1, 1932, at Oak Park, a daughter of Wesley and Thelma Durflinger Coan. She married Ted R. Brickey on Sept. 19, 1949, at Bloomington. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Debbie (Mike) Bauer, Bloomington; one son, Bill (Beverly) Brickey, Bloomington; two brothers, Frank (Shirley) Coan and Jim (Joan) Coan, both of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Michael (Deanne) Brickey, Lodi, Calif.; Brandon Brickey, Benicia, Calif.; and Brian Bauer and Lisa (Deron) Penn, both of Bloomington; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Robert Coan; and two sisters, Lucille Ahlers and Clare Coan.
Dottie was a former bookkeeper for McGrill Foundry, Bloomington. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She loved animals and was a member of the McLean County Humane Society. She loved to travel and had visited many countries around the world. She was past president of the Bloomington Elks Auxiliary.
