DWIGHT — Dorothy J. Henrichs, 82, of Dwight, passed away peacefully at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 28, 2015) at Heritage Health, Dwight.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight, with visitation two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight; Alzheimer's Association, Chicago; or Heart to Heart Support Services, Flanagan.
Dorothy was born June 11, 1932, in Colfax, to Henry and Anna M. Bargsten Holsten. She married Delbert Henrichs on Nov. 7, 1955, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight. Delbert passed away May 9, 1970.
Surviving are two sons, Duane (Debra) Henrichs, Odell, and Daryl (Kellie) Henrichs, Bloomington; a brother, Roger (Paula Fieldman) Holsten, Dwight; her sisters-in-law, Laverne and Elvera Carter and Edith (Larry) Petry; and brother-in-law, Delmar (Reatha) Henrichs; twin grandchildren, Hailey Henrichs and Jaxon Henrichs; and cousins in Nebraska and Rhode, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother and parents.
Dorothy was retired in 1998 from the dietary department of the William Fox Development Center. She also worked at the ammunition plant and Dwight Coils, and was a mother and homemaker.
Dorothy was a member of the church and attended a Bible study class. She liked greeting her postal carrier, Kerry, with a cookie, a drink and a short conversation. They called it her wellness check.
