NORMAL — Dorothy Louise Totterer, 98, of Normal, passed away at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2015) at her residence.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington with the Rev. Ric Schneider, O.F.M., officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.
Dorothy was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Bloomington, a daughter of Max and Anna Langhoff Lockenvitz. She married Charles John Totterer on June 5, 1937, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Dave) Davenport, Denver, Colo., and Doris Totterer, Normal; two grandsons, Michael (Nell) Lucas, Shawnee, Kan., and Chris (Beth) Lucas, Denver, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Diana Totterer; two sisters; and six brothers.
Dorothy was a homemaker her whole life. She was a wonderful mother and her family was everything to her. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Royal Neighbors. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
