LINCOLN - Dr. Alfredo M. Jocson, 75, Lincoln, passed away at 11:34 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 5, 2006) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
A private funeral Mass for Dr. Jocson will be at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or Carroll Catholic School. Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving Dr. Jocson are his wife of 46 years, Nenita Jocson; his children, David Mark (Renee) Jocson, Normal; Laura J. (Brian) Hatfield, Lutherville, Md.; and Alfred John (Caroline) Jocson, Rockford; sister, Belen Cruz, the Philippines; brother, Carlos Jocson, California; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Lyn Jocson.
Dr. Jocson was born on Sept. 11, 1930, in the Philippines, the son of David G. and Rosa Magsaysay Jocson. He married Nenita Arreola on June 25, 1960, in Chicago. She survives.
Dr. Jocson graduated from the University of Santa Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He completed his internship at South Chicago County Hospital. He practiced in the Philippines and worked at Lincoln Development Center as a staff physician. He was medical director at Adolf Meyer Mental Health Center in Decatur and also worked at McFarland Mental Health Center in Peoria as well as at Heritage Behavior Center in Decatur.
He was a member of Holy Family Church, past member of Lincoln Rotary Club and Lincoln Elks Lodge 914, Central Illinois Philippine American Society and American Psychiatric Association.
