LeROY - Dr. John G. Amdor, 83, of LeRoy passed away at 1:45 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 24, 2005) at LeRoy Manor, LeRoy.
Per John's wishes, the body will be cremated and there will be no services. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LeRoy Emergency Ambulance Service, LeRoy Manor, or OSF St. Joseph Hospice, Bloomington.
Dr. Amdor was born Oct. 18, 1922, in McLean County, a son of Elmer W. and Nellie Dewey Amdor. He married Mary Woods on Dec. 23, 1943, in Bloomington. She passed away in 1981. He later married Patricia A. Mensen on June 30, 1982. She passed away May 28, 1998. He then married Dona Simpson Howe on Jan. 1, 2004, in Farmer City. She survives in LeRoy.

Also surviving are one son, John Joseph Amdor, LeRoy; one daughter, Carol Lee (Paul) Chafin, Raymore, Mo.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six stepchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Laurel and Merle Amdor; and one son, Phillip Amdor.
John was a Navy veteran and served during the Korean Conflict as a lieutenant in the Naval Dental Corps. In 1955, he started his dental practice in LeRoy and served the community for 29 years. He retired in 1984.
He loved animals, especially his sheep, two border collie dogs and cat. He also raised geese and chickens. He was interested in history.
