BLOOMINGTON — Edward William “Beanie” Doage Jr., 66, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:36 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 11, 2015) at his residence.
A celebration of Edward’s life will begin at noon Monday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Wesleyan University Ames Library or to Bloomington Public Library.
He was born April 8, 1948, in Bloomington, the son of Edward William and Barbara Jean Chavis Doage.
Surviving are his sons, Edward William “Nick” (Carin Hoye-Doage) Doage III, and Aaron Renée (Ashley) Doage, both of Bloomington; daughter, Marty Doage-Lane, Bloomington; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; four aunts, Mable Doage and Norma Nathan, both of Bloomington; Thelma Brown, Decatur; and Katherine Thomas, Denver, Colo.
Edward was preceded in death by both of his parents and one great-grandson, Hayden.
Edward graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School, Bloomington; University High School, Normal; and Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington.
