FLANAGAN — Edward Daniel Iverson, 80, of Flanagan, died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2015) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ancona Church of Christ, with visitation an hour prior. The Dr. Paul Kissling will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery, Flanagan, where full military rites will be accorded by Flanagan American Legion.
Memorials may be made to his church or to National Parkinson Foundation.
Edward was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Flanagan, to Alva and Mary Richardson Iverson. He married Alice Jean Hallam on March 10, 1957, in Streator. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2009.
Surviving are his children, Brenda Iverson, Normal; Leesha (Brian) Peoples, Bloomington; and Terence (Jacqueline) Iverson, Washington; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Erika and Darci Peoples; and one brother, Paul (Karen) Iverson, Long Point.
His parents and three brothers, Wayne, Russell and Ivan Iverson, preceded him in death.
Edward served his country in the U.S. Army during peace time in the late 1950s.
He was a member of Flanagan American Legion and Ancona Church of Christ, and a former trustee of Mount Zion Cemetery Board. He enjoyed bowling in his earlier years.
Edward dedicated his life to farming.
