Eleanor Lucille Barton, 98, formerly of Lincoln, passed away at 8:41 p.m. Saturday (March 3, 2018) at Heritage Health, Bloomington.
Eleanor was born July 23, 1919, to Herman and Alvena Milhahn Rhody. She married Albert Barton on Aug. 25, 1937, in Dixon, Ky. He preceded her in death April 14, 1987.
Surviving Eleanor are her children, Dewayne (Jan) Barton, Washington; Gary (Vicky) Barton, Normal; and Donald Barton, Jetmore, Kan.; six grandchildren, Mike (Sharon) Barton, Mark (Tracey) Barton, Brian (Denise) Barton, Tim Barton, Megan (Steve) Castleman and Abby Barton; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Eleanor graduated from Lincoln High School. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for 20 years at Lincoln Developmental Center. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln, and was a member of the Ladies Aid for funeral meals.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at the church. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
