EUREKA — Evelyn F. Snellenberger, 96, of Eureka, passed away at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 17, 2017) at Eureka Apostolic Christian Home, where she had been a resident.
She was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Calhan, Colo., a daughter of Archie M. and Lula Mary Cooprider Wilson. She married the Rev. Paul C. Snellenberger on Sept. 29, 1940, in Roxana. He passed away on June 28, 1996.
Surviving are four daughters, Shaari (Larry) Massey, Ellenton, Fla.; Ruth (Eric) Stromberg, Kansas City area; Paula (Don) Bard, Bloomington; and Susie (Dale) Wyss, Goodfield; eight grandchildren, Bret (Pam) Massey, Brian (Laurie) Massey, Christina (Justin) Grotheer, Alisa (Scott) Shanks, Becky (Jonathan) Nance, Debbie (Tim) Mason, Josh (Jenn) Wyss and Mindy (David) Stalter; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, A. Paul Wilson; and one grandson, Justin Wyss.
Evelyn was a member of the Eureka Church of the Nazarene where her husband was the pastor for many years. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at her church. The Rev. Bret Massey, her grandson, will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Eureka, and one hour before the service Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery, Eureka.
The family holds the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home in the highest regard and wishes to thank everyone who cared for their mother so lovingly. Words cannot express their gratitude.
