NORMAL — Everett Arthur Bugge, 93, of Normal, passed away at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday (April 25, 2017) at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, Normal, with the Rev. Jonathan Huehn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Military rites will be accorded by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
Everett was born March 25, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis., a son of Earl Andreas and Elva Christine Husone Bugge. He married Pearl Behling on May 1, 1945, in Concord, Calif.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl Bugge, Normal; sons, Glen (Mary Ann) Bugge, Edgewood, N.M., and Richard (Linda) Bugge, Tijeras, N.M.; daughters, Billie Jean (Richard) Follmer, Hudson, and Barbara (Aaron) Lange, Jackson, Mo.; sister, Betty Comins, South Beloit, Wis.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Everett graduated from the University of Florida. He and his wife later moved to Bloomington after his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church since 1950. He served the church in a variety of ways, including boards and as a church elder.
Everett accomplished much in life. He loved woodworking, but nothing was more important to him than his family.
