Everett W. “Tex” Smith, 70, of Bloomington, passed away 10:45 a.m. Dec. 10, 2017, at Aperion Care, Bloomington.
Cremation rites were accorded. A graveside service with military rites will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, with John Kaupp officiating. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Everett was born June 17, 1947, in Peoria, the son of James and Minnie Coffen Smith. He married Sandra K. Bricker on Oct. 4, 1996, in Bloomington. She died Dec. 8, 2004.
Surviving are three daughters, Angela (Jesse) Douget, Ruston, La.; Lynn (Eric) Pullum, Englewood, Colo.; and Christine Janick, Clinton; three stepdaughters, Kim (Bob) Nicholas, Bloomington, and Karen Greiner and Kellie (Sean) Thoennes, all of Normal; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Everett was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam war. He was the owner of Smith Painting in Bloomington, retiring in 1992. He loved to hunt and fish.
Everett was loved by many and will be missed by all.
